I am a Professor and the Philippe Tondeur Scholar in the Department of Mathematics, and a Brad and Karen Smith Professorial Scholar of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am a member of the Differential Equations and Applied Mathematics group and a faculty affiliate of the Computational Science and Engineering program.

I was named an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow in 2012, a Center for Advanced Study Beckman Fellow in 2014 and an Associate in 2019, and a Simons Fellow in Mathematics in 2016. I received an NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in 2014 and a Campus Distinguished Promotion Award in 2019.

I completed my PhD at Brown University in 2006; Walter Strauss was my advisor. I was a CLE Moore Instructor at MIT in 2006-2009.

I am an editor of the Illinois Journal of Mathematics and Fluids, the Topics Board. I am a member of the Illinois Campus Research Board.

I am not teaching 2020-21 and I am honored to be an LAS Fellow in a Second Discipline.

I co-organize Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation (IMSI) Workshop: Confronting Climate Change.

I co-organized Graduate Research Opportunities for Women (GROW) 2019 and 2020.
