The course webpage will be on learn.illinois.edu (not yet available).
Prerequisite: You must have a recent ALEKS score of 80% or more by no later than August 28th. See https://math.illinois.edu/ALEKS for more information.
The lectures (AL1, AL2, or AL3) will be asynchronous, so they don't have a specific time. Instead, I will ask you to watch prerecorded video lectures on your own each Monday, Wednesday, Friday, whenever convenient. The discussion sections (ADA, ADB, ...) are online and synchronous, so you will meet with your TA and classmates over Zoom at a specific time every Tuesday and Thursday and work on worksheets in groups of about four students.
Over the summer, we opened several new discussion sections to decrease class size from 32 down to 24. See the course catalog for times. If you see an open section that you prefer to the one you have, please move yourself.
Read this before purchasing any book: Homework will be on the online system WebAssign, which automatically comes with the e-text that we will be using, Stewart's Calculus, Early Transcendentals, 8th edition. Access to WebAssign and the etext will be free until September 5th. After that date, you will need the access code, which can be purchased at the University Webstore at https://webstore.illinois.edu/shop/search.aspx?keyword=stewart. For more details see http://go.illinois.edu/CalculusBookInfo . You will NOT need to purchase a physical copy of the textbook. The same text is used in Calculus I,II,III so if you plan to take Calc II it is probably worth your while to purchase access for multiple semesters. Note that other classes that use Webassign (Diff Eq, Linear Algebra) use a different text and your calculus access will not transfer to those other classes.
