G3 conference on March 26-29, 2015, South Padre Island, Texas.

The next G3 conference will take place there on Thursday-Sunday, March 26-29, 2015. (This date is different from the one originally planned. We had to change it for technical reasons.) Come on Wednesday, March 25, or earlier. We start in the morning on Thursday, and finish by noon on Sunday. The talks will be at the hotel. As usual, we will begin with several educational talks. Those are meant to be introductory talks in areas related to geometric group theory and intended for general audience. If you are giving one, don't be affraid to make it easy.

Organizers: Igor Belegradek, Ben McReynolds, Igor Mineyev. We are grateful for the support from the National Science Foundation. No registration fee is required for the conference. Do not be affraid to meet people whom you see for the first time. This has been intentionally arranged for the purpose of interaction.

If you'd like to receive future G3 announcements (about once a year), please send a brief request to mineyev math uiuc edu. If you are planning to attend this conference, send an email to dmcreyn gmail com.

The (constantly preliminary) list of participants: Yago Antolin Pichel (Vanderbilt U), Mladen Bestvina (U of Utah), Igor Belegradek (Gergia Tech), Claire Burrin (ETH, Switzerland, and MSRI), Seongjun (Jun) Choi (Purdue U), David Cohen (Rice U), Carlos De la Cruz Mengual (ETH, Switzerland, and MSRI), Jonas Deré (KU Leuven Kulak, Belgium), Matthew Durham (U of Michigan), Elisabeth Fink (Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris, France), Mark Hagen (U of Michigan), Jingyin Huang (NYU), Artur Jackson (Purdue U), Curtis Kent (Courant Institute, NYU), Sang-hyun (Sam) Kim (KAIST, Korea), Kyle Kinneberg (Rice U), Yash Lodha (Cornell U), Natasha Macura (Trinity U), Ben McReynolds (Purdue U), Igor Mineyev (UIUC), Ivan Mineyev (UMS), Roman Mineyev (UMS), Andrés Navas (U Santiago de Chile, Chile), Mikhail Ostrovskii (St.-John's U), Mark Pengitore (Purdue U), Kevin Schreve (U of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), Timothy Susse (U of Nebraska-Lincoln), Richard Wade (U of Utah).

Hotel information

Travelodge, 6200 Padre Blvd, South Padre Island, Texas.
The conference room is in the same hotel.

All hotel questions should be addressed to Igor Belegradek (ib math gatech edu) who will arrange hotel registration for all participants; please email him your arrival/departure info as well as special hotel requests, if any.

If you are self-supported, please call the hotel at (866)601-6200 to make a reservation; when calling, mention the mathematically incorrect group name: G3. If calling the hotel presents any hardship, please send email to Igor Belegradek for help.

Due to limited funds, the general expectation is that junior participants will share the room (a standard motel room with 2 beds). A participant can have a room all to himself/herself but in that case half of the room needs to be paid from other sources (else the conference will run out of money).

Schedule and abstracts

Giving a talk, travel/accommodations support.

We welcome interested graduate students, recent Ph.D., women, and minorities to apply. If you are interested in giving a talk at the G3 conference or to be supported for travel/accommodation, please send an email at dmcreyn gmail com with a short description of your research, an abstract of the proposed talk, and any other information you find relevant. Mention if you are planning to attend, and whether this is contingent upon travel support from G3. A certain time during the conference will be devoted to poster sessions/discussions; please do use this option. Participants are encouraged to bring their articles/preprints (one or multiple copies); there will be a designated place to display them for the duration of the conference.

G3 sweatshirts

are available at the conference. They are similar to this one, these, those, or those ones. The price will be about $13-$15.
