printable G3 announcement.

The G3 conference, February 5-8, 2004, Mobile, Alabama.

Conference organizers: Stephen Brick, Craig Jensen, Igor Mineyev.
Warm welcome from Mobile.

The G3 conference resembles geometric group theory itself -- it lets algebra, geometry, topology and analysis interact. The next G3 conference will take place Thursday-Sunday, February 5-8, 2004, in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Mobile is located on the gulf coast, of course. The talks will start at 4.00 p.m. on Thursday and finish around noon on Sunday. We will start with several educational talks for general audience.

This will be the very beginning of Mardi Gras in Mobile. You will have an opportunity to watch the Conde Cavalier parade on Friday, February 6, and explore Mobile. Our hotel is right on the parade route.

Attending the G3: Patrick Bahls, Gregory Bell, Chris Connell, Michael Davis, Zrinka Despotovic, Rostislav Grigorchuk, Tadeusz Januszkiewicz, Ilya Kapovich, Adam Keenan, Stephen Keith, Gilbert Levitt, Dmitri Matsnev, John Meier, Ashot Minasyan, Yevgen Muntyan, Roman Muchnik, Alexey Muranov, Christophe Pittet, Dongwen Qi, Dmytro Savchuk, Dan Silver, Dmitriy Sonkin, Zoran Sunik, Anna Wienhard, Susan Williams, Asli Yaman, and the organizers too. Please send a note if you are going to attend the conference (with a talk or without). This will help our planning. "Yes" or "maybe" replies are fine.

The conference schedule is now available.

Here are the pictures from the previous G3 conference in Pensacola Beach, Florida, in November 2002.

If you would like your name to be added to (or subtracted from :) the mailing list for future G3 announcements, please send a note.

The simplest way is to arrive at Mobile Regional Airport and to take a taxi or to rent a car.

There are other options you might want to consider:

Sometimes this might be cheaper.

Articles and preprints.

A special place in the conference room will be designated for participants' articles and preprints (poster session). Everyone is encouraged to bring (multiple copies of) their articles/preprints for others to see and/or to take.

G3 sweatshirts are real cool. To have an idea what it looks like, see, for example this picture or that picture. Tell us if you would like to have one (for about $13) at the conference so that we have enough supply.
