Math 413 -- Introduction to combinatorics

This includes homework assignments/solutions, exams dates and details,
and additional lecture notes.
Textbook and syllabus
Brualdi, "Introductory Combinatorics", 5th edition.
We will cover much of Chapters 2,3,5,6,7 and 8, plus supplemental material
(cycle structure of permutations, big-O notation, basic additive combinatorics, and other topics as
Math 347 or equivalent.

Weekly assignments will be given, details announced on Moodle.
All assignment are due AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS and will be turned in electronically.
The graded assignments will also be returned electronically, and all of this
is done on Moodle.
NO LATE HOMEWORKS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY REASON.
If you have a reasonable excuse for missing an assignment,
I will score it by the average of the other assignments.

Course grade calculation
Course grades are determined by homeworks (20%), midterm exams (25% each)
and the final exam (30%).
All grades will be numerical (e.g. 0--100). For final course grades,
93% guarantees an A, 90% guarantees an A-,
87% guarantees a B+, 83% guarantees a B, 80% guarantees a B-,
75% guarantees a C+, 70% guarantees a C.
Honors credit: Honors credit learning agreements (HCLA) are not
offered for this course.
