Homework: We will be doing homework on-line using WebAssign. The on-line homework will count for 5% of your course grade. At least 20% of every exam will be taken from these problems and the class worksheets (exactly as they appear) and another 30% will be very similar (usually with the numbers changed). It is hoped that you will work on the problems both on your own and in small groups.

Quizzes There will be a short quiz most every Friday in your TA section. The lowest two quizzes will be dropped. No makeup quizzes will be offered, even if the quiz is missed for a good reason.

Group Work In the TA sections students will primarily be working in small groups on worksheets. The groups will be randomly formed and only one of the solutions from each group will be graded---the entire group will share this grade. The grading on these will be fairly minimal as it is expected that questions or mistakes will most often be addressed by the TA during the hour. The worksheets will account for 5 % of your course grade.

Exams: There will be three in-class exams during the semester. Exam grades are not curved but may be scaled.

THE CASE FOR REQUESTING A MAKE-UP MIDTERM MUST BE MADE BEFORE THE EXAM IS GIVEN.

Once a midterm has been given, short of a medical emergency on the way to the exam, a makeup exam will NOT be provided.

    Exam I Thursday, Sept. 26 2.1-2.3, 2.5-3.4
Exam II Thursday, Oct. 31 3.4-4.9
