Practical information
Arrival and Departure
The Austin Bergstrom Airport (AUS) is the closest airport to Austin and
the University of Texas. Transportation to and from the airport is
serviced by a number of taxis, the Super Shuttle, or the Airport Flyer 100
bus. Super Shuttle can be reached at (512) 258-3826 or 1-800-BLUE VAN or
online here or can be booked
upon arrival.
More
information about the Airport Flyer bus can be found
here.
Directions and Campus Map
The Department of Mathematics is located in R.L. Moore (RLM) Hall, at the
southeast corner of Dean Keaton and Speedway. Here is a
map.
Bus Routes
The city bus service which operates buses throughout the city and
University of Texas campus is called Capitol Metro. The electronic bus
schedules, including the University of Texas Shuttle Bus Services, are
available here.
La Quinta Inn & Suites Austin Capitol is 1.4 miles (a 30min walk) from the
conference site. There are a few routes
that may help with this commute; the most direct option is probably the
number 7-Duval/Dove Springs bus. The AT&T Center is just a short .7 miles
(approx 13 min walk) away; but if your interested in busing it, route
number 5-Woodrow/South 5th looks like a promising option.
An interactive website including the Trip Planner can be found
here.
If you plan to take a lot of buses, consider the 7-day pass for only
$11.25 (see this page).
Passes and fares can even be
purchased and redeemed using their free
CapMetro mobile app.
Driving to Campus
Driving directions the Department of Mathematics in RLM Hall can be found
here. There are
a number of public ramps on campus
(see here),
in addition to street parking (paid by the hour) along Dean
Keaton. More information about parking on campus is available
here.
